It's Done

The trade show season is done. I have my life back. Granted, I am still exhausted, but the end has happened and in a week, after some rest, I'll be back to my ol' self. I'm ready, I'm just plumb exhausted.

To top it off, I've started a diet. Based of one on itrain.com. Should be interesting. Sofar I'm down 4 pounds in one week. So far so good.

I also am getting involved in a Meet Up group here in town that it's purpose is socializing. I love it. We walk, we play bunco, we have game night. It's been very good for me.

In celebration of my new found time, I'm participating in another apron swap. I so enjoy doing this. Flirty Apron Swap

Work and Real Life

Today marks the end of the first trade show of the year. We are at the Consumer Electronic's Show in Las Vegas. The challenges are mostly centered around our health this year. Between the dry, dusty air and the casino stench, we are suffering headaches, nauseousness, overall bad feelings.

After several shows in Las Vegas, I've invested in a portable humidifier. It has been the best money I've spent for travel gear in years. It's a simple device about the size of box of thin mints. Every night, I turn it on high and set it on the night stand and point it at my head. With out this, I'm sure I'd be miserable here in Vegas.

I am grateful for working with Charley from out Atlanta office, he understands the needs and demands associated with working a trade show booth for our company. However, the stench has just about taken him down this trip.

Tonight will be a long drive home, one my husband is not happy I am making as the highway between here and home is one of the most dangerous in the country.

One of our demo's has U2 in concert and after two shows listening to them, I am no longer a fan...

House Guests

Over the last 6 weeks we have 3 different sets of house guests. Not that I mind, actually, I like having guests, it's just that, it's a lot of work. Loads of laundry and tons of cooking and driving and sight seeing. I don't really mind, but add in having a job, a couple of dogs and life of your own and it can be a bit of challenge. We had a lot of laughs and really enjoyed all of them in their own ways and now we are glad to get our lives back to normal or as normal as our lives can be.

I'm going to try today to rest and do that halloween pillowcase dress for little Chloe so I can mail it on Monday with my swap box. But that means I have to find my inner creative monster and she's a bit tired today.

Stress and other Daily Dilemmas

Trying new things, going places, being all I can be is just a bit exhausting lately. Good news is work gave a a bump up on income this year. Nice that they realize I'm valuable. My craftiness has slowed up due to the amount of work I'm handling. Seems though as if I'm in a little burnout stage. Can't seem to concentrate lately. My focus is blurry. I definitely need a mind vacation.

I need fresh air.
