The only time I tried to swallow oysters was in the 70s in Arizona (believe it or not!) during a dinner with my then-hubby's client. I choked halfway through. It wasn't a pretty sight. The wine...I can do...not the oysters :-)
I'm with you on that Nadine. I can't eat anything that looks like someone already ate it and put it back on the shell. ew

There's plenty to be found. go to the little side steet vendors and down to the ferry building.....big farmer's market there and fresh sea critters too.
