Creativity that I find amazing

I love Etsy. I know some of you do too. There are two things I really enjoy - Pounce and then the front page items. Both really get me all sucked into things.

I found these and I'm loving this artists work. "Leap of Faith" by Mama Gourds. I mean really? how did she do that?

Then we can discuss favorites and circle and all the fun stuff that people like that you didn't know they liked.

It's addictive and wonderful!

Have you Etsy'd today? I have.

Aprons as Awards!

If you follow along much, you know I am a new member of the local Junior League. Back in March we had our Kids in the Kitchen event here and I worked on the committee. We worked closely with two ladies in the community that were instrumental in making our event a success. Our committee chair asked if I would mind making them each an apron to present at our upcoming awards banquet (yes this Wednesday- yikes). Of course, I said yes - what's a girl to do?

Having had deadlines for the various swaps I was already committed to, these had to wait to the last minute to be put together. I was gone last week on a long ugly business trip so I had to really muster my resources yesterday to kick these off.

I am using the Sweetwater Apron pattern from the Label Crew called "Sunkissed Apron" and then also the labels from the April shipment.

Last night, I got all the way to just adding waist ties and pockets when I realized it looked way too much like a Mini Mouse costume.
Nothing against the grand MM but it wasn't the look I wanted. Then Denise gave me an awesome idea of adding in a little contrast fabric and I had the yellow Kaufman Chickens that just hit the nail on the head (at least I think so). So here they are - what do you think?

Survival!

My planned escape went successfully. I was able to pick the lock on my shackles and slip past the guards. I hitched a ride on an outbound vessel headed west. The way was bumpy and crowded. We landed close to home successfully. I maneuvered my way south through vehicles and building along a well traveled path. My final stretch of road was glorious to see my home off in the distance with my waiting family.

We spent a nice evening catch up and loving each other. The last minutes before sleep and needed rest were having a rousing session of iphone battleship. Where I proceed to win 3 consecutive games - it was my night.

Tomorrow we will get back to our regularly scheduled program.

oh and I thought I'd share what I sent Nadine for the SAS swap now that's she's received it and it fits her machine!

Day 4 of my captivity

Last night my captors allowed me to have 5 hours if sleep after the torturing. My shim has been filed down to a fine blade for picking the lock on my shackles. My bowels are still in quiver mode. The forced dehydration has made my vision blurry. On day I hope to have my fingers reconstructed from the bamboo that's been shoved under my nails. The mutiny is eminent. There will be casualties an collateral damages that we will have to overcome. My rely on my memories of home to keep me focused and diligent to escape. Ground control to major Tom.

Day 3 of my captivity

I survived last nights torture but more is promised for tonight. The situation is grim. An uprising is on the horizon, the prisoners are restless. Our captors are not aware. Before dawn I will work on my shim. Tell my family I miss them and I will return.

Day 2 of my Captivitiy

my captors have taken my water. They are only feeding me salty food. I am forced to walk through camp up hill both ways with nothing but high heals. The torture me by corporate water boarding. My mind is being reprogrammed. If you are reading this, tell my family I am surviving, by shear stubborn will to survive.

AKA

The maid through out my half drank bottle of water, the fried chicken salad at dinner was way to salty. I walk from the hotel to the office and depending on the route, it really is up hill both ways, in heals. My version of corporate water boarding refers to data entry. My mind is being reprogrammed. I do miss my family and stubborn enough to survive until it's time to go home.
