10 tasks in 10 days - ROFLMAO

Yeah ok so really? I thought I could do all this in 10 days...I crack myself up.

But here is my progress.

So the list is now 0

2) filing
3) organize home office better
4) hang US flag for the 4th holiday
7) start on the penny rug
8) sew up the pillowcases
9) sew up the apron for my sister in law.

so I'm only half way through in 6 days and only 4 days left to do all of the above.

this is one tough challenge when you work a full time job, and have to support a demanding husband and prepare for company.

Notes below on the 10 items:

1) try a new recipe - yes - homemade lemonade
2) filing - ugh - partially done.
3) organize my home office better - hahahahahaha i'm so funny
4) re-work my side garden - yes
5) add new annuals to the front the flower beds - yes and mulch too
6) hang the US flag on the house - have deteremined the location in the garage of its wearabouts.
7) Decide and start the July table runner for the Christmas in July event - idea forming for a penny rug
8) make the pillowcases I bought that fabric for :O - no progress at all
9) finally sew up the apron for my sister in law before she gets here on Friday - hahahahaha
10) finish up the "Monday" dish towel stitching project. - finished it last night as a matter of fact.

Christmas in June?

Sort of -- over at Amanda' blog she's hosting the Christmas in July. I finally made the snowflake and snowman garland from a pattern I bought two years ago. I'm very happy with it and think I'll make the other one now in the pattern :). I love the traditional red and greens for christmas with the homemade feel to things. Not to glitzy, not to rustic - just kind of homey.

What do you think?

Fun and Games

Today didn't start out well but I hope it finishes great. I overslept...not a good thing because it wasn't by a small amount but by hours...My excuse - work I've been traveling for a the last week and didn't sleep much the last 3 days and when I finally got in my own bed I was done.

Anyway here I am and I'm blogging because Shawnee is doing a fun almost treasure hunt giveaway! I would love to win this, but know it can go to anyone of the wonderful swappers in the Cupcakes, Cherries and ME swap - to see what I'm talking about check it out here.

Anyway, I'm off to do physical therapy on this ol' shoulder of mine and mail off some packages for the other swap I am in.

View from SFO Int'l terminal

As I sit at a slightly sticky highboy table in the Firewood Cafe of the San Francisco international terminal, I see concrete and lots of it. I see the free way packed full of cars this Friday afternoon. The hills in the distance are hazy and brown dotted with green swaying trees.

On my table lay an empty lipgloss box from what I got a Sephora here in the airport, a half full beer and an half eaten personal margarita pizza.

Yesterday, I met my sister here at the airport and we drove to Manteca, CA to visit our grandmother. Three weeks ago she was in a car accident and at 90 years old, any accident is a big deal. Her sternum was broken and she is in some pain.

We spent last evening sitting on the floor of my aunt's house with my cousins and their kids laughing and talking and enjoying time together.

Today, we too my grandmother and aunt to the Mangy Moose for breakfast and have a wonderful experience. Good food and a fun around the table teasing each other. I feel very blessed to have this live and this experience.

I'm pondering a doing a spirtual retreat to an Ashram to detox my system and center myself and hope that I am able to work this in soon.

The view is full of sunshine and I wish I were home or outside.

I wish I could remember where....

I found the fabric for these two aprons...they'd be great for this swap I'm doing. I sent these to my BFF and her daughter last year and they are from Mary Engelbreit fabric....somewhere deep in my mind is the store.

Rest

So it's taken me a few weeks to fully recover from the last few months of crazy travel and work. But guess what? I am back out on the road next week. Small trip up north to San Francisco and then a day visiting my grandma. Fly back home and leave the next day for Switzerland for 4 days. Hopefully, back home in time for my husbands 3rd degree ceremony.

All that aside, there's a great give away over at Paper Trunk - take a look see the excitement, leave a post!
