Just because I'm feeling sorry for myself today

I figured I'd post on my TMJ issues. Should be a good follow up to the shoulder issues! For years, I've have TMJ. For the last 2 years I've been going to a oral facial pain management clinic. I've had botox and steroid injections in my jaw several times, I wear a mouth guard every night. I have ear aches, jaw locking and popping, vertigo and migraines.

Recently, I had a consult with an oral surgeon to see if there is anything that can be done to surgically repair my jaw damage. After waiting 2 weeks for the MRI results, it seems I have to do the leg work on getting this to the surgeon and setting up all the follow ups.

Sorry that you are going through all this. I'm sure by now you've had at least a 100 well meaning people tell you what worked for them....so get ready for well meaning person #101. I had the same symptoms (except vertigo) and was restricted to a soft food diet and was on Vicodin as well as shots directly into the back of my head once a week. Then I ended up at my Chiropractor's office (long story) but he fixed it. Yes, it was a painful process, but after 2 months I was off all my pain killers and no more TMJ ever! It's been almost 9 years now. No more migrains either. He does a cranial lift manuever that is amazing. I can give you his info if you are interested. He's in Fullerton. It might be worth a try before you go the surgery route?
